Sew Much Fun!

I guess you can call me a liar- I said that next I would be posting about cookies but I just haven't made it there yet.....I've been.....can you guess????  Yep!  You're right- sewing!

I found a great place online that has fantastic applique designs for your embroidery machine.  I had the opportunity to test stitch a design for this boutique and it stitched wonderfully.  The best part is that they are having a 50% off their entire site sale until Monday, March 7th!  You know I love a sale.....I'm stocking up on all kinds of cute things!  So please check out the Embroidery Boutique.  You can also find them on facebook at www.embroidery-boutique.com where you can keep up with all their upcoming designs.  Here is the latest design from Embroidery Boutique I have stitched out...

I have had  few people ask what sewing pattern I used for the boutique dress top I recently posted on my facebook page.  I love modern technology and the pattern is from Sew Sensible online.  The pattern file is emailed to you once you purchase it and then you print it out tape the pages together and voila!..... a pattern that is great and super easy to follow.  I love these because I can print it out more than once and cut out once for each size!  No more tracing patterns on tissue paper!!!  Also, they have super easy to follow color step by step instructions with pictures.....makes it where even I can do it!!!  I can't wait to try out my next pattern from there!!  Here is the dress I made using the boutique dress top pattern from Sew Sensible.

Check out these places- I love their stuff!  Hopefully cookies tomorrow!  :-)

I want a Sock Monkey!

In my last post I talked about making a ruffled diaper cover to use up some of the fabric strips I have all over the place.  Well here it goes....

I had this cute little sock monkey fabric and thought it would make a cute little diaper cover.  If you are wondering where I got the pattern you can find it here.  I just love the little sock monkeys and can't wait to make a little matching flower headband!  Here is what the front looks like....

I can't wait to figure out other things to make with all my strips lying around but first coming up tomorrow it's cookie time!! I love decorating cookies.  Here's a little hint to the design...she wore an itsy bitsy....

If you like sock monkeys too then check out my friend's boutique Sassy Pants Designs.  She has an adorable shirt there.

Let me see your jelly roll...

I have this little addiction to all things fabric- any one that has seen my crafting area can testify to that!  I especially have a weakness for a little thing called a jelly roll... jelly roll you ask?  It is a roll of fabric consisting of 40 different 2 1/2 inch fabric strips all cute and bundled together with a cute little tag... oh, I just get all warm and fuzzy thinking about it!  Look how cute one is....
I love the name of this one, Dilly Dally.  The Man often tells me to quit dilly dallying ;-).  You can find all kinds of little jelly rolls at the Fat Quarter Shop, my favorite place for fabric!

So I have all these cute little wonderful jelly rolls lying around and needed to do something with them so I came up with some fabric rosettes.  I just love them and they are so easy to make.  Just a little ruffling, rolling, few stitches and hot glue and voila- a cute little flower!
I think I may be going a little flower crazy now as I have tons of fabric strips...I just love stripping ;-)  The flower above and a couple others are being auctioned off for a benefit for the Staats family who lost their 4 month daughter this past week.  Their story really touched me and I felt like I needed to do something so that is where these little flowers came in.  The Staats' story can be found here if you want read about it.
The auction will be held on facebook at Polka Dot Junkie by Megan Green.  It starts tomorrow and goes until March 3rd.  It is for a great cause so please go check it out and look at all the adorable items people have donated.

The above rosette is attached to a coordinating fabric covered hard headband.  My girls love them and now are picking out strips that they want flowers out of.  Next up will be a ruffled diaper cover using......can you guess...yes, jelly roll strips!

Everyone have a great evening...I'll be stripping :-O

Clippie Crazy!

I must admit having two adorable girls gives me great creative inspiration.  One is four and the other is five and since they are so close in age, 11 months apart, they are either the best of friends or screaming at each other.   My oldest decided the other day she'd had enough of her sister and X'd her out of the family... I honestly couldn't help but laugh. "Bad mommy!"
They keep me quite entertained, on meds, and often make me understand why some animals eat their young!  My latest obsession to create for my little drama queens are clippie covers.  I make them in the hoop on my embroidery machine.  They are super quick and easy and all you need is felt from your local craft or hobby store, hot glue, a 50mm clippie and what ever embellishments blow your dress up!
These are all embroidery files that I downloaded from GG Designs Embroidery.  They are called Felt Stitchies and she is currently having a multiple design purchase discount.  If you buy six or more designs you can get up to 30% off the felt stitchies series.  I am just in love with these little guys and I have to say my girls are too!  Every time I make a new one for someone, the girls want one too!  Use your imagination and come up with all kinds of cute colors and combinations.

If you decide to make some have fun!  If you don't have the capabilities to make some, never fear, Two Crazy Girls Designs is here. I don't want anyone to feel left out of this crazy clippie fun ;-)
My youngest modeling a heart clippie
Now to decide what to do next...oh yes, homework!  It is just not nearly as much fun...happy Friday everyone!

What?

Am I really attempting to start a blog?  Me? The person who can't even remember or find the time to feed the animals, do the laundry, or wash the dishes?  Yep....I am.  Hold on to your britches...this may be a bumpy ride!

I love to craft or pretty much attempt to make anything.....at least once and my husband,"The Man", loves buying me all the goodies I need to complete my craft passion at that moment.  Not really, but he honestly never complains.  His motto is "Happy wife, happy life" and I'm all about that :-)

I swear I suffer from Hobby ADD, otherwise, known as HADD... as in I "HADD" a project I didn't finish but I promise I will!    I always have a project going and most often more than one which drives The Man nuts but after almost ten years of marriage he has accepted my addiction to all things crafty.

I will attempt to share with you all the things I am working or have worked on and links to great sites with great ideas.  Right now I rotate between sewing, embroidery and am attempting cookie decorating but just today I was contemplating digging out my soap making supplies.  Watch out- woman with lye coming up!

I also enjoy gardening and reading. I am a prolific reader of pretty much anything from regency romance to autobiographies.  It may be steamy or it may be rigid and boring as all get out but I'll let you know what I think and you can take it or leave it.  The Man refers to each new plant I bring home as "victims" because eventually, usually sooner than later, they will die.  It's not that I can't keep plants alive, I just simply forget they need one little simple thing called water.  Did I mention I have a bachelor of science in Horticulture?  It's just been 10 years since I've used it.

Oh and in the midst of all this I am the mom of two wonderful girls that drive me crazy- hence Two Crazy Girls Designs. I'm also a wife and currently taking nine hours of master's degree classes and suffer from an autoimmune disease that tends to slow me down a bit.  So in the midst of all this craziness- I dreamed this idea that it would be fun to share all this with you!

Welcome to my blog and I hope you get some good ideas and share some with me!  Just don't tell The Man... ;-)
